Copperopolis: Embedding local Swansea history into the new primary curriculum through digital literacy

A FREE Key Stage 2 activity pack in the form of a digital resource which can be used in an exciting cross-curricular format, available in both English and Welsh.

The concept of Cynefin is defined by Curriculum for Wales as ‘the place where we feel we belong, where the people and landscape around us are familiar, and the sights and sounds are reassuringly recognisable‘. This important and innovative approach to teaching at primary school level has been embraced by researchers at Swansea University’s CHART. It was an opportunity to distill the latest thinking and research into a co-created format that could engage, enchant and enthrall young people from across the region, to bring to the fore the important role (good and bad) that industry played in the making of the places they call home.

CHART is delighted to announce the publication of its new FREE Key Stage 2 activity pack, a brand new, digital resource combining local Swansea heritage with digital literacy in an exciting cross-curricular format, available in both English and Welsh. The resource has been co-produced by researchers from the university, a creative education consultant, and local primary school teachers.
